Important Notes (Before Booking)

  • A valid ticket is required (one of the following):
    • Swiss Travel Pass
    • Eurail Global Pass
    • Glacier Express ticket
  • This reservation is one-way only (please add outbound and return separately if needed)
  • Excellence Class is only available for passengers holding a 1st class pass
  • The following routes are only available on specific train numbers: 900 / 901 / 906 / 907
    • Chur – St. Moritz
    • Chur – Andermatt
    • Brig – Zermatt
    • Brig – Andermatt
  • Service Notices:
    • There will be no Glacier Express trains running between October 11 and December 4, 2026.
    • There will be track works between Chur and Domat/Ems Werk on March 21–22, 2026.
    • Shuttle buses will be arranged for passengers boarding or alighting at Chur, with transfers provided between Chur station and the Glacier Express to ensure a smooth journey.

Q1: Can I book without a Swiss Travel Pass / Eurail Pass / Glacier Express ticket? 

No. This product is a seat reservation only and must be used with a valid ticket.

 

Q2: Is a reservation mandatory?

Yes. The Glacier Express is a fully reservation-only train.

 

Q3: How early should I book?

We recommend booking at least 4 weeks in advance, especially during peak seasons.

 

Q4: Can I choose my seat?

You may indicate your preference (window / face-to-face), but this is subject to availability.

 

Q5: What if my preferred train is unavailable?

We will suggest alternative options or provide a full refund.

 

Q6: How can I capture the iconic postcard view of the Landwasser Viaduct, with the train entering or exiting the tunnel?

  • If you are traveling from St. Moritz to Zermatt, sit on the left side near the front of the train.
  • If you are traveling from Zermatt to St. Moritz, sit on the right side near the rear of the train.
