Zermatt Peak Pass

The Zermatt Mountain Pass is the easiest way to explore the iconic alpine resort of Zermatt and the legendary Matterhorn. With one pass, you can access the region’s major mountain transport routes and visit famous viewpoints such as Matterhorn glacier paradise, Gornergrat, and Rothorn.

The pass covers key routes including the Matterhorn glacier paradise cable car, the Gornergrat Railway, the Sunnegga–Rothorn lift system, as well as the Täsch–Zermatt shuttle train and local buses. It’s ideal for enjoying Matterhorn views, alpine lakes, scenic hiking trails, and the Glacier Palace.

• The cable cars do not operate year-round or all day.

Passengers holding a mountain excursion voucher issued by Fida (or a Swiss Travel Pass) can ride both the Red Line and Green Line buses for free.

• Ticket prices vary depending on your departure date and are divided into three seasonal price ranges.
• To check ticket prices for different departure dates, please select your desired date using the calendar tool on this webpage.
• The pricing seasons are as follows:
  • Regular season: May, September, October
  • Summer season: June, July, August
  • Winter season: November to April (November, December, January, February, March, April)
• Free admission for infants: Children under the age of 9 on the day of travel can ride for free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. It is recommended to carry the child’s passport for random ticket inspections.
• Free admission for children: Children aged 9 to under 16 on the first day of travel can travel for free if accompanied by parents holding a valid Swiss Travel Pass (STP) or Swiss Half Fare Card (HFC) along with
• Swiss Family Card.
• Children requiring tickets: Children aged 9 to under 16 on the first day of travel without a Swiss Family Card can:
  • Purchase a child ticket at 50% of the adult fare, or
  • Buy a Junior Card for CHF 30 at an SBB ticket counter in Switzerland.
• STS discount: 
  • Available for adults holding a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card; usage counts as one travel day.
• Passports must be presented when redeeming the voucher to verify age and name.
• Passengers with disabilities who require a wheelchair and a companion may be eligible for one free ticket. Please present a valid disability identification card at the time of purchase.

【Timetable】
Approximate minimum one-way ascent time to Zermatt’s three main peaks:
 

• Matterhorn Glacier Paradise: about 45 minutes
  • From Furi to Suspension Bridge : 900 m with an elevation gain of 74 m
  • From Schwarzsee to Trockener Steg : 7 km with an elevation gain of 507 m
• Gornergrat Summit : about 35 minutes
  • From Rotenboden to Riffelsee : 450 m, relatively flat trail
• Rothorn Summit: about 35 minutes
  • Five Lakes Hike – From Blauherd to the first lake Stellisee: 1.5 km with an elevation gain of 82 m
     

【Voucher Redemption Location】
The ticket you purchased is a voucher and must be redeemed at one of the following locations:
 

1. Valley Station Sunnegga-Rothorn ( about a 10-minute walk from the Zermatt railway station )
2. Zermatt Matterhorn Glacier Paradise Valley Station
    

You can take the free Zermatt local bus, which departs every 20 minutes from the Zermatt railway station, to reach these stations.

• A deposit of CHF 5 is required when exchanging for the pass.
  • You can get your CHF 5 deposit back by returning the undamaged beeping card (keycard) after your trip.
  • Cards can be returned at the base stations of Gornergrat, Rothorn, or Matterhorn Glacier Paradise in the town of Zermatt.

【Applicable Bus Route Map】
With a mountain excursion voucher issued by Feida Travel (or a Swiss Travel Pass), you can take the Red Line and Green Line buses free of charge.

The shortest and most efficient one-way travel times to the summits of the three mountains are as follows:

• Matterhorn Glacier Paradise : approximately 45 minutes
• Gornergrat : approximately 35 minutes
• Rothorn : approximately 35 minutes
