• Regardless of the overall pass validity period, each one-day pass must be exchanged and used on a single selected day within the valid period. Each of the three rail passes can be used on different days, as long as they fall within the Kansai Rail Pass validity.

   

[Excluded Services]

• Limited express trains (except Kansai-Airport Express HARUKA), including both reserved and non-reserved seats in ordinary cars
• Paid seating services such as "A-seat" on Special Rapid Service trains
• Shinkansen (bullet trains)
• Highway buses

Kansai Airport Express HARUKA :

Non-reserved seats in ordinary cars are included. For reserved seats, advance reservation is required. This pass allows up to two reserved seat rides on HARUKA trains.

After exchanged ticket voucher,  by using a reserved seat ticket machine located at JR stations, you can book and issue a reserved seat ticket for the JR West Rail Pass Kansai Area without waiting in line at the "Midori-no-madoguchi" (ticket office). Manual here.

You have to (within 3 months from issue day) turn in your Exchange Order with your passport to receive your JR West Rail Pass Kansai Area at a exchange office. JR West Rail Pass Kansai Area exchange and sales offices here

With a JR West Rail Pass Kansai Area, you can go through the automatic ticket gates.

• JR West conventional lines: Special Rapid, Rapid, and Local trains are covered.
• West Japan JR Buses: Only local route buses within the valid area are included. Highway buses are not covered.

  • For reserved seat reservations, please bring your JR Pass to a Midori-no-Madoguchi (JR Ticket Office) or a reserved seat ticket machine after exchanging your pass. Advance reservations cannot be made before the JR Pass is exchanged.
