JR West Rail Pass Kansai Wide Area

• Includes some recommended destinations in the Kansai area, such as Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Wakayama, Himeji, Okayama, Takamatsu, Tottori, Tsuruga, Kinosaki Onsen, Otsu, Amanohashidate, and Kurashiki.
• The Kansai Wide Area Pass allows unlimited train rides within the valid area shown on the map.
• Unlimited rides in non-reserved seats within the applicable area.
• Includes airport routes such as Kansai Airport, Okayama Airport, and Takamatsu Airport.

• Tokaido Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka <> Tokyo)
• Sanyo Shinkansen (Okayama <> Hakata)
• Kyushu Shinkansen (Hakata <> Kagoshima-Chuo)
• Paid seat services: An additional fee is required when booking and riding in “A Seats” on the Special Rapid Service.

Kansai Airport Express HARUKA :

Non-reserved seats in ordinary cars are included. For reserved seats, advance reservation is required. 

After exchanged ticket voucher,  by using a reserved seat ticket machine located at JR stations, you can book and issue a reserved seat ticket for the JR West Rail Pass Kansai Area without waiting in line at the "Midori-no-madoguchi" (ticket office). Manual here. 

Reserved seat reservations cannot be made before exchanging for your JR PASS.

You have to (within 3 months from issue day) turn in your Exchange Order with your passport to receive your JR West Rail Pass Kansai Wide Area at a exchange office. JR West Rail Pass Kansai Wide Area exchange and sales offices here

With a JR West Rail Pass Kansai Wide Area, you can go through the automatic ticket gates.

• Reserved seats on the Sanyo Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka ⇔ Okayama). The Hello Kitty Shinkansen is also included.
• Limited express trains such as HARUKA, KUROSHIO, KONOTORI, SUPER HAKUTO, etc.
  • Reserved seats require advance booking.
  • Some trains have only reserved seats and no non-reserved seating. For trains with all reserved seating, please refer here.
• JR West conventional lines, including Special Rapid Service (Shin-Kaisoku), Rapid Service (Kaisoku), and Local trains (Futsū).
• JR West buses are valid only on local routes within the designated area. Expressway buses are not included.
• When reserving a reserved seat, please bring your JR PASS to a “Midori-no-Madoguchi” (JR Ticket Office) or a reserved seat ticket machine to make the booking (seat reservation). Reserved seat reservations cannot be made before exchanging for your JR PASS.
