VY PlussNatt

VY PlussNatt is a night train product launched by Norwegian Railways (VY). It features semi-reclining seats inspired by first-class airplane cabins, providing a comfortable new option for nighttime travel. It officially went into service in 2023.

PlussNatt is not a traditional sleeper car, but a stylish "premium seated night car." Its core design focus is: 

• instead of traditional bunk beds or enclosed compartments, it adopts semi-reclining individual seats
• similar to those in first class on an airplane
• emphasizing comfort, quietness, and privacy, but it is still classified as a "seat car" rather than a "sleeper car."

• Designed to resemble an airplane's first-class cabin
• Featuring a steep recline and leg support, a neck pillow, and a blanket. 
• The spacious individual seats enhance privacy. 
• Utilizing leather and recycled fabrics, the design blends Nordic aesthetics.

Primarily operating on popular long-distance routes in Norway, such as Oslo–Trondheim and Oslo–Bodø, allowing travelers to easily travel through fjords and mountainous terrain at night.

PlussNatt is a brand-new option positioned between Premium Economy and a capsule cabin. It suits travelers who don't need a full sleeper berth but still want more comfort than economy class, making it especially ideal for solo travelers or short overnight transfers.
