Norway in a nutshell® is one of the most popular independent travel experiences in Norway, created by Fjord Tours. The most common route goes from Bergen to Oslo, but you can also start and end in Oslo, Bergen, Flåm, or Voss.

🚆 Bergen Railway
From Bergen to Myrdal — one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys, passing through mountain plateaus and dramatic scenery.

🚞 Flåm Railway
From Myrdal down to Flåm — one of the steepest standard gauge railway lines in Europe, descending 867 meters over 20 km.

⛴ Fjord Cruise
From Flåm through the Nærøyfjord (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to Gudvangen — a spectacular narrow fjord surrounded by towering cliffs and waterfalls.

🚌 Bus Ride
From Gudvangen to Voss — a scenic ride that may include Stalheimskleiva (one of Norway’s steepest roads, open summer only), with hairpin turns and valley views.
