European train tickets are divided into "tickets" and "seat reservations." Holding a rail pass is considered as having the "ticket."
When making reservations, depending on the train schedule and type, it can be categorized as: mandatory reservation, recommended reservation, or no reservation needed. Most train types and routes in Germany do not require reservations.
With the pass, if you encounter sudden schedule changes, train delays, etc., you can directly switch to other trains or schedules.
The German Rail Pass is valid for travel on routes operated by the national railway company DB. During the validity period of the pass, you can enjoy unlimited travel on Deutsche Bahn trains. The rail pass fare does not include seat reservations, meals, or sleeper accommodations. You can use the Rail Planner app to find out which train types are covered and whether reservations are required.
The German Rail Pass also allows you to travel on certain IC Bus routes (reservation fee required), river cruises (discounted fare), city transport (S-Bahn), and scenic trains (no reservation needed), among others.
Welcome to download and use the app to check train schedules, making it easy and quick to access travel information. The actual train times are based on the schedules available on the Rail Planner app.
