One of Switzerland’s most iconic castles, Château de Chillon, has long attracted poets and artists such as Alexandre Dumas and Victor Hugo to Montreux.
Montreux is one of the most beautiful towns along Lake Geneva, and has been a favorite holiday destination for Europeans for centuries. Its lakeside scenery and mild climate give it a poetic and romantic charm.
The must-see attraction in Montreux is undoubtedly Château de Chillon. Originally built in the 9th century, the castle has been modified and expanded over centuries by various dukes. The famous British Romantic poet Lord Byron was so inspired by the religious reform stories that took place here, he wrote “The Prisoner of Chillon.”
The stone-built castle sits right on the edge of Lake Geneva — its ancient walls reflected in the tranquil waters, making it one of the most beautiful and unique castles in all of Switzerland.

The town is also home to the famous Château de Chillon, one of Switzerland’s most visited historic landmarks.
Mont Blanc, located on the France–Switzerland border, is the highest peak in the Alps at 4,807 meters. Often called the “Matterhorn of Europe,” its perennial snow cap remains all year round, making the summit snow-covered throughout the seasons. It is the third most visited natural attraction in the world! The icy valleys and glaciers of Mont Blanc are world-class scenic wonders. In winter, the region is a premier ski destination, while summer offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities.
You can reach Glacier 3000 via the cable car starting from Col du Pillon, accessible from either Gstaad or the beautiful alpine town of Les Diablerets.
