Tour Highlights
- Departing from Lisbon, head to the town of Sintra to explore the first “Cultural Landscape” ever designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sintra is full of remarkable sights, but our top recommendation is the unique and truly magical Pena Palace.
- On this tour, we’ll visit the Pena Palace, located at the top of the Sintra Mountains. It is a perfect example of Portuguese Romanticist architecture. The palace features exotic styles and a dazzlingly colorful façade. The surrounding park spans over 200 hectares and is full of artistic charm, with gardens, ponds, bridges, and fountains.
- After the visit, we’ll head to Sintra’s historic center to explore its narrow medieval streets. Here, you’ll have some free time—we recommend trying the famous local pastries, Queijadas and Travesseiros—they’re delicious! You will also have time to enjoy lunch on your own.
- In the afternoon, we’ll head to Cabo da Roca – the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Then continue along the Atlantic coast toward Cascais, passing by Azenhas do Mar beach. Once a small fishing village, Cascais became a popular summer retreat for the aristocracy, with many noble families building holiday villas and homes here.
- Today, Cascais is known for its beautiful beaches, lively coastal atmosphere, stylish cafés, boutiques, gift shops, and colorful streets.
