During this one-day tour, you'll discover the charm of ten beautiful Lake District towns and lakes. We begin our journey in the main town of Windermere, then continue on to Rydal Water, Grasmere, Thirlmere, Derwent Water, Buttermere, Crummock Water, Bassenthwaite, Ullswater, and Brothers Water.
This isn’t just about seeing lakes all day—you’ll also enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes. Our thoughtfully planned route includes views of the dramatic Kirkstone and Honister passes. Travel is mainly by minibus, but there will be plenty of stops where you can walk around and soak in the scenery.
Around lunchtime, we’ll stop in Keswick for an hour (lunch is not included). The town offers a variety of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and sandwich shops for you to choose from.
We also include the experience of boat rides on several lakes, depending on the weather. While we aim to include as many as possible, specific lakes cannot be guaranteed.
We recommend wearing warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes. A light rain jacket is also suggested in case of wet weather.
*All routes are subject to change due to local conditions or weather. The final itinerary will be based on the guide's arrangements.
Lunch :
The tour includes a stop in Keswick for approximately one hour for lunch (please note, lunch is not included in the tour price). The guide will drop you off near the Market Square, surrounded by shops and cafés. The pedestrianized town center offers a variety of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and takeaway options. On Thursdays and Saturdays, the Keswick Market features numerous local stalls to explore.
The tour concludes in Grasmere, a picturesque village nestled between mountains. This traditional village is a highlight of the trip. Enjoy your time in the village and consider tasting the famous Grasmere Gingerbread, a delicacy available only at a small shop located beside St. Oswald’s Churchyard. Still family-owned and operated, this treat was introduced to the village in 1854 by Victorian-era baker Sarah Nelson. Grasmere is also renowned for its association with poet William Wordsworth, who lived in the village's Dove Cottage and is buried in St. Oswald’s Churchyard.
