Luzern–Interlaken Express is a famous scenic train in Switzerland, connecting Luzern and Interlaken Ost. The entire journey takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes, passing through magnificent lakes and Alpine scenery. It is part of the eastern section of the GoldenPass Line.
The Swiss Travel Pass covers the Luzern Interlaken Express. Reservations are not mandatory, but are recommended during peak seasons or when traveling with a large group. Other special reservations:
Restaurant car: Usually the fourth car has a restaurant car Bistro where you can purchase meals or directly reserve a seat in the restaurant car (meal order required)
Accessible space: The third car is usually an accessible space

Brünig-Hasliberg The high point
At 1,001 metres above sea level, the highest point on the route. Be ready with your camera or mobile phone, as the view here opens up onto an impressive panorama of the Bernese Alps and their roaring waterfalls. The Giessbach waterfalls plunge 400 metres into the depths – a breathtaking sight.
Brienz Pure Switzerland
This is a typical Swiss chalet village, situated by the idyllic turquoise waters of Lake Brienz and known for its long tradition of wood carving, where you will find alleys and chalets straight out of a picture book. Brunngasse alley has been recognised as the most beautiful in Europe.
Interlaken Imposing
Destination and starting point at the same time. This world-famous town between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun invites you to stroll around and enjoy dolce far niente, the sweetness of doing nothing, in one of its many cafés. The panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains will inspire you. And if you’re looking for sport and adventure, then this is just the right place for you.
