What is a

European train travel involves two components: the ticket and the seat reservation. A rail pass counts as your ticket, granting you access to eligible trains. When it comes to reservations, policies vary depending on the route and train type: some require mandatory reservations, others recommend reservations, and many need no reservation at all.

With a rail pass, you have the flexibility to switch to another train or departure time if your original train is delayed or canceled—giving you peace of mind and greater freedom while traveling through Europe.

Pass Coverage

The Ireland Rail Pass is valid for unlimited travel within the pass’s validity period on all national rail services operated by Irish Rail (Iarnród Éireann), Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART), and Translink NI Railways in Northern Ireland.
