Don’t miss a visit to Santa Claus Village. Crossing the Arctic Circle is one of the main highlights, and you can even purchase an Arctic Circle certificate as a keepsake. You can also meet Santa Claus and take photos with him, or explore the Santa Claus Post Office, where you can send postcards stamped with the official “Arctic Circle” postmark.

Rovaniemi, located in Finland’s Lapland region, features cuisine deeply influenced by local natural ingredients and Lapland culture. There are many must-try dishes, from reindeer meat to fresh fish, each offering a unique Arctic flavor. Here are some of Rovaniemi’s signature dishes:

  • Reindeer (Reindeer Meat) – A traditional Lapland ingredient with tender meat and distinctive flavor. Popular dishes include reindeer steaks, reindeer stews, and reindeer burgers, often served with local berries and potatoes.

Day 2 Santa Claus Express / Overnight Sleeper Cabin

The itinerary goes from north to south, but if you’re interested, we can also add a northbound sleeper at the very beginning. Board the sleeper, enjoy a Kahru beer with friends on the train, and the next morning, savor a European-style breakfast from the dining car.

This double-decker sleeper night train, known as the Santa Train, is a comfortable way to travel to and from Lapland. Multiple departures are available daily, and you can choose between a regular seat or your own private sleeper cabin. On board, enjoy delicious meals from the dining car, relax by the large window in your cabin, and drift off to sleep. In the morning, breakfast is delivered to your bed, so you can start the day fully energized.

Day 3: Helsinki / Overnight in Helsinki

For fine dining, you may consider the Michelin-starred restaurant The ROOM by Kozeen Shiwan, which is renowned for its innovative cuisine blending Nordic and Asian flavors.
