Day 3–4 Strasbourg – TGV – Colmar / 2 nights in Colmar
Expand

Colmar, the capital of the Alsace Wine Route, is a charming old town surrounded by colorful half-timbered houses and tranquil canals, often referred to as Little Venice. Strolling through its streets feels like stepping into a fairytale. The city is also said to have inspired Hayao Miyazaki’s animated masterpiece Howl’s Moving Castle. During winter, Colmar hosts enchanting Christmas markets that are not to be missed.

Highlights include the Unterlinden Museum (a former 13th-century convent), the Maison des Têtes (House of Heads), St. Martin’s Church, the Bartholdi Museum, and the picturesque La Petite Venise. Alsace, with Colmar at its heart, is not only known for its scenic beauty but also for its world-class gastronomy. Local specialties to try include regional cheeses, white wines, cakes, sauerkraut (pickled cabbage), and the savory tart Flammekueche (a thin crust topped with onions, cream, and bacon).

Day 5–6 | Colmar – TGV – Mulhouse / Overnight in Mulhouse for two nights
Expand

Mulhouse is located in Alsace, nestled between the Rhine River and the Vosges Mountains, close to both Germany and Switzerland. Proudly calling itself the “Crossroads of Europe”, the city has a fascinating history — once annexed by Germany after the Franco-Prussian War, it only returned to France after World War I.

Historically, housing was divided by social class: white-collar residents lived higher up the slopes, while workers settled closer to the valley floor. This mix of influences, together with its shifting past, gives Mulhouse its distinctive character.

Here you can admire German-style architecture, taste hearty local dishes such as pork knuckle, or enjoy a traditional Alsatian winstub (tavern), serving specialties like Fleischschnakas (meat-filled pasta spirals in broth), Flammekueche (onion and cheese tart), and choucroute (sauerkraut with meats).

Every summer, Mulhouse also hosts the famous Festival Automobile, when hundreds of vintage cars gather — a true highlight for automobile enthusiasts.

Day 7 | Mulhouse – TGV – Paris / Overnight in Paris
Expand

The Louvre, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, the Grande Arche, the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d’Orsay, the Seine River, the Champs-Élysées, Versailles… Paris is every traveler’s dream, filled with countless magnificent landmarks.
