Adelboden – A true holiday paradise in the Swiss Alps, located in the Bernese Oberland within the Engstligen Valley. How to Get to Adelboden ? Perfect to combine with a trip to Zermatt.
From Zermatt, take the train to Visp (a major transfer station on the way down from the mountain), then continue by train for 16 minutes to Frutigen. From Frutigen, a comfortable PostBus ride of about 30 minutes takes you directly to Adelboden. Alternatively, there are direct trains from Zurich Main Station (Zurich HB) to Frutigen (approx. 1h 34m), making Frutigen the main gateway bus stop to Adelboden.- How to Get to Lenk ? Perfect to combine with Montreux (GoldenPass Line) or Interlaken (Jungfrau Region).
If you are traveling on the GoldenPass Line, Zweisimmen is the key transfer station and gateway to Lenk. From Zweisimmen, a short 17-minute PostBus ride will take you to Lenk (Lenk im Simmental). For example, from Montreux, you can reach Zweisimmen in about 2 hours by train—either by regular trains or the scenic GoldenPass Belle Époque train (reservation recommended but not mandatory).
Alternatively, from Interlaken, the train to Zweisimmen takes about 1h 10m, followed by a 17-minute PostBus ride to Lenk—making it an ideal addition to a Jungfrau Region itinerary.
Instructions for Use
- Tickets purchased online must be exchanged for physical tickets at the counter.
- For tickets purchased with the STS discounted fare, a valid Swiss Travel Pass is required. You must present your valid Swiss Travel Pass when boarding the cable car. Flexible Swiss Travel Passes require the use of one travel day.
- For tickets purchased with the Eurail discounted fare, a valid Eurail Pass is required. You must present your valid Eurail Pass when boarding the cable car, and one travel day will be deducted.
- This is a day ticket and is only valid for use on the date of travel.

- Free Ticket: Children under 16 years old travel free when accompanied by an adult (no ticket required)
- Swiss Travel Pass (STP) Discounted Fare: Available only for holders of a valid Swiss Travel Pass. One travel day of the pass must be used.
- Eurail Discounted Fare: Available only for holders of a valid Eurail Pass.
