The most iconic way to reach Stoos is the world’s steepest funicular railway. In just 7 minutes, it connects Schwyz with the car-free mountain village of Stoos at 1,300 meters above sea level. 

The round barrel-shaped cabins automatically adjust to stay level, ensuring a comfortable ride even on the maximum gradient of 47.7%. The journey itself feels like an attraction, offering spectacular views as you ascend from the valley to the alpine plateau.
