• Applicable to the cable car departing from Bernina Diavolezza Station to the summit
• Diavolezza - The Fairy Peak (also known as the Witch Peak or Siren Peak) stands at an elevation of 2,978 meters. Surrounded by several peaks exceeding 3,000 meters in elevation, visitors here can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Engadin Mountains and glaciers.
• The cable car takes just 10 minutes to reach the summit. Those prone to altitude sickness should remember to rest briefly upon arrival! The summit features a scenic restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating options.
• Diavolezza Operating Hours:
  • Summer Season: 2025/5/5 - 10/17 & 2026/5/4 - 10/16
    Cable cars run every 20 minutes, with the last descent around 17:00.
  • Winter Season:
    2025/10/18 - 11/16 & 2025/12/20 - 2026/05/03 & 2026/10/17 - 10/31
    Cable cars run every 20 minutes, with the last descent around 16:20.

• Bernina Diavolezza railway station is located along the Bernina Express scenic railway line.
• We recommend taking the train from Chur or St. Moritz to Bernina Diavolezza Station (some sections require a transfer). From the station, it is a 3-minute walk (or a ride on the magic carpet) to the cable car station, where you can take the cable car up to Diavolezza.

  • Pontresina to Bernina Diavolezza train journey: 18 minutes
• If you stay for two nights or more in any of these three cities—St. Moritz, Pontresina, or Sils - most hotels will provide a free Engadin Card, which allows you to use public transportation, enjoy free mountain hikes, and more. This also includes  Diavolezza!

• Glacier Experience Trail : Walking on a glacier and experiencing this world of ice up close requires expertise. For that reason, it should really only be attempted by people who have lots of experience of hiking in the high Alps. But if you aren’t such an expert, don’t worry: “average” hikers can go onto the glacier safely under the guidance of the Bergsteigerschule Pontresina (mountaineering school). link
• Climbing on Piz Trovat II – a devilishly fun adventure. Piz Trovat ferratas I and II. With 300 metres of vertical distance, 500 steps, 600 metres of steel cables, a stunningly high rope bridge, a 35-metre-long Tyrolean traverse and incredible scenery of ice and rock, adventure awaits you on Piz Trovat. link
• The ORMA Whisky distillery – the highest whisky distillery in the world. The Corvatsch mountain station at 3,303 metres above sea level is home to the highest single malt whisky distillery in the world.
• Berghaus Diavolezza : Spending the night at almost 3,000 metres. A night at the Berghaus is so much more than just a night at a hotel. Here, you can get closer to the starry night sky than almost anywhere else, and the only artificial light you will see for miles around is the light coming from the Berghaus itself.

Wake up before a glacier at an altitude of 2978 meters, with the famous "Queen of Mountains," the Bernina Massif, and magnificent glaciers right before your eyes. As the last cable car descends, the entire mountaintop is yours. 

Enjoy a sky full of stars, and wake up to the golden sunrise the next day. Newly renovated in 2025! Double rooms with ensuite bathrooms are available (starting from approximately CHF 140). Single and double rooms with shared bathrooms are also available. The shared bathrooms are separate wet and dry areas and include shower gel and shampoo. The restaurant is downstairs.
