Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway

New scenic train added to the Swiss Travel Pass! 

Starting in 2025, Swiss Travel Pass holders can enjoy a 25% discount on the Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway.

This is one of Switzerland’s most unique and historic steam railways — the original line was built in 1925 and was reopened in 1992 by railway enthusiasts and volunteers. Today, it operates entirely as a volunteer-run heritage railway!

The line runs only during the summer season (June 18 – September 27, 2026), using beautifully restored historic steam trains. With the Swiss Travel Pass, a 1st-class ticket costs about CHF 106 (regular price CHF 156).

There are only 2–4 departures from Thursday to Sunday each week, so tickets are very limited!
