Tour Highlights
The route to the white villages follows an ancient border that once separated the Christian Kingdom of Castile from the Moorish Kingdom of Granada (Al Andalus). We'll travel through the province of Seville and visit some of the most picturesque whitewashed villages in the region.
Departing from Seville, we’ll journey through a variety of Andalusian landscapes. Along the way, we’ll pass by the Castle of Aguzaderas before heading into increasingly mountainous terrain.
Our first stop is an olive oil mill, where you'll learn about the traditional methods of olive oil extraction and production—an essential part of Andalusian history and gastronomy. We’ll also enjoy an olive oil tasting here, offering the chance to sample one of the finest extra virgin olive oils from the region. Afterward, we’ll visit the charming white village of Zahara de la Sierra, whose dramatic location will take your breath away. Strolling through its narrow streets, you’ll enjoy panoramic views and gain insight into the region’s rich past.
We’ll then continue to the Sierra de Grazalema, a region known for its exceptional cuisine, landscapes, geology, and botany. Two native species stand out in this area: the "Pinsapo" fir tree and the "payoya" goat, whose milk is used to produce one of Andalusia’s most iconic cheeses—payoyo cheese. Due to the culinary importance of the area, Grazalema is our chosen stop for lunch. Your guide will provide recommendations on local specialties and where best to enjoy them. (Lunch not included.)
While in Grazalema, you'll also have free time to stroll through the village’s narrow white streets and admire the breathtaking mountain views.
Finally, we’ll head to the romantic town of Ronda, the largest in the region. We’ll drive through one of Spain’s largest natural parks—home to cork oak forests—and learn about these unique trees and the cork industry. As we approach Ronda, the dramatic views of the Ronda mountains will unfold before us. Before arrival, your guide will share the town’s most important historical and cultural highlights, including its main landmarks: the Plaza de Toros, Alameda, Paseo de los Toreros, El Tajo Gorge, and the iconic New Bridge (Puente Nuevo). Upon arrival in Ronda, you'll have time to explore the city at your own pace before we return to Seville.
