If you've recently spotted "Interrail" instead of "Eurail" on our website, in an email, or on your ticket, don't worry, it's not a typo and nothing's gone wrong with our system. It's an official brand update, and your Pass itself hasn't changed at all.
Eurail Passes used to be for residents outside Europe, while Interrail Passes were for European residents. The two brands are now merging into one: Interrail. Starting September 9, 2026, you'll gradually start seeing the Interrail name and logo replace Eurail across our website, app, and tickets, but it's only the name that's changing, not the rules.
Here's what you don't need to worry about:
Your Pass
Any Pass you already hold, mobile or paper, that was issued as a Eurail Pass will continue to show the Eurail name and remains a valid travel document. No need to reapply or exchange anything.
Existing bookings and reservations
Any seat reservations or bookings you've already made stay valid and aren't affected. Use them exactly as planned.
Benefits
Add-on offers, mountain pass discounts, and all travel perks included with your Pass will remain unchanged. Nothing will be reduced or cancelled as a result of the name change. However, please refer to the latest information on the official Interrail website.
The Rail Planner app
The app keeps working as usual. You'll notice a new look, but your saved trips and routes are all still there. If you have a Eurail mobile Pass, it may still be labelled "Eurail Pass" in the app.
What you need to do
Nothing. This is purely a name change, the rail network, how you travel, and the overall experience stay exactly the same.
